The Countdown to the Elastic Search Awards; Honorees to be Announced at Elastic{ON} Tour San Francisco on February 28, 2019

Inaugural Awards Program to recognize six Elastic customers and users
in three categories for noteworthy uses of the Elastic Stack

MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Elastic N.V. (NYSE: ESTC), the company behind Elasticsearch and the
Elastic Stack, announced that more than 30 organizations and individuals
in the Americas region have applied for the inaugural Elastic
Search Awards
. The program honors exceptional uses of the Elastic
Stack for philanthropic, novel, and business-evolutionary purposes.

Some of the organizations that submitted applications for the Elastic
Search Awards include 3M Company, Chick-fil-A, Comcast Cable
Communications Management, Kenna Security, LexisNexis, Macy’s, NowPow,
Rede Nacional de Ensino e Pesquisa, T-Mobile, U.S. Army, and WalMart.
All the applicants represent a wide swath of business sectors, including
broadband, education, finance, food services, government, health,
mobile, retail, tech, security and more.

The Americas honorees and their projects will be announced and showcased
on February 28, 2019 during the Elastic{ON}
Tour San Francisco
event.

Your Work, Your Cause: Elastic Stack Use Cases

The projects from the applicants include everything from preventing
phone scams, empowering nonprofits, and chronicling disease. Other
submissions detail the building of a Security Operations Center (SOC),
creating a “prior art” database for patent research, and launching a
commercial mobile application that renders a unique, and personalized
marketing experiences for users.

“These awards highlight how the Elastic Stack can be harnessed in so
many ways, for bettering humankind, providing security, and for
radically transforming how companies conduct business,” said Shay Banon,
chief executive officer and founder of Elastic.

Elastic continues to
accept applications
for the Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA)
region through July 31, 2019, as well as for Asia Pacific and Japan

For 2019, we expanded the Elastic Search Awards, formerly known as the Elastic
Cause Awards
, to recognize more than just those using the Elastic
Stack for good causes. We’re now celebrating customers and users of the
Elastic Stack that are doing something technically unique or unheard of,
in addition to recognizing those that have dramatically transformed
their organizations and businesses with the Elastic Stack.

Some of the previous Elastic Cause Award winners included a variety of projects
for making the world a better place
, such as eHealth
Africa
using the Elastic Stack to monitor and curb Ebola outbreaks
in West Africa; IST
Research
using the Elastic Stack to aggregate data to combat human
trafficking and violent extremism; and, NoSchool
Violence.org
developed an app using the Elastic Stack to assist
parents, mental health professionals, and others to make connections
between specific observable behaviors and potential youth violence.
