How EPRIVO is Pioneering Privatization of Consumers’ Existing Emails

By Dr. Csaba Andras Moritz, Founder EPRIVO

EPRIVO’s groundbreaking and government-grade protections for emails are revolutionizing the industry and calming the fears of citizens worried about their sensitive information being exposed. Rather than having dedicated secure emails, consumers can opt to use any of their existing email accounts, from any provider, as a secure or private email.

For millions of workaday employees, the mere thought of looming emails triggers feelings of angst and anxiety. How many of them will be jammed into my inbox and awaiting my reply? Why can’t I get an answer to that email sent days earlier? Why aren’t my emails going through today?

The most overlooked aspect of angst-inducing trouble regarding emails, however, is what could potentially happen to yourself and your associates if those private messages were hacked by online pirates. Most would shudder at the thought of the potential damage that could come if the highly sensitive material stored in personal and work emails were ever to be illegally accessed by hackers looking to do harm.

Fortunately for those users wanting to do everything they can to avoid such a catastrophe, EPRIVO has introduced groundbreaking technology that offers unparalleled privatization of emails. Co-Funded by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, EPRIVO — an acronym for Electronic Privacy Circle — is pioneering email security protections for both senders and receivers, as well as private collaborations.

Launched in late 2018, EPRIVO works with most current email systems, the app can be downloaded on all platforms (IOS, macOS, Android and Windows), and it is able to protect both voice and text responses in emails. Most importantly, EPRIVO does not host, or store emails and instead focuses solely on protecting the privacy of the messages.

“Emails are extremely vulnerable to privacy violations during their lifetime,” said C. Andras Moritz, Chairman and founder of EPRIVO. “First, emails are often archived for many years as users accumulate a large number of emails that are spread in the cloud. Also, security breaches, service provider insiders, deliberate data mining, implementation vulnerabilities, and weak user passwords, are among the factors that lead to most people’s emails being compromised at some point in time.”

Moritz, also the founder of WindowsSCOPE (cyber forensics) and BlueRISC (embedded systems assurance), also pointed to the “Heartbleed Bug” as another reason that daily e-mail users must prioritize the security of their servers. The “Heartbleed Bug” exposed the recent vulnerability on SSL and further highlighted the enormous challenges faced by families and companies in trying to protect their email privacy.

What sets EPRIVO apart from the competition, Moritz has stressed, is the multitudes of layers of protection offered to both email senders and receivers. EPRIVO’s features go above and beyond the baseline privacy of email content that is always present in the cloud as well as in the sender/recipient devices and the physical security when enabled. It allows a sender to control emails even when delivered to recipients’ devices.

And that’s just the start of the unique features offered by EPRIVO, which is clearly pioneering the industry with the many levels of protection that it offers while safeguarding email servers of families and everyday internet users all over the world. Here are five features that EPRIVO offers clients to better assist them in privatizing their emails:

1. Set expiration in private email: This feature allows users to set times in the future when emails will expire, and they can no longer be viewed by recipients. This feature is especially useful when sending a sensitive email that does not need to be accessible after an initial time frame. It’s usually good practice to set a six-month expiration on emails with sensitive information. The best news of all is that the recipient is unlikely to ever know that the email will expire after a given period of time.

2. One-time view private email: This allows internet users to send emails that can only be viewed once before expiring. This option allows for the exchanging of information that is sensitive, of short-term interest, and does not need to be archived.

3. No forwarding: This feature prevents the recipient from forwarding the email body to any party outside the original email list. This measure ensures that sensitive information in email bodies is not leaked outside of the original recipients.

4. Privatized sender: This option enables the sender’s address to be made private once the recipient has seen the email once. It hides the “from” address in the cloud as well as in third-party email programs. Its main benefit is that it prevents the sender’s email address information from leaking.

5. Anytime recall and privatizing regular emails: These features allow the sender to recall an EPRIVO private email at any time so that it vanishes from the recipients’ devices and the cloud. As for privatizing regular emails, the EPRIVO app allows you to designate any received regular email as private. This encrypts the email in the cloud.

EPRIVO is confident that its government-grade and groundbreaking protections can keep families and everyday internet users from having to worry so much about protecting the privacy of those regular and private emails in their inboxes.

“In addition to the vulnerabilities related to senders and related providers, the privacy of an email — as soon as it is sent — depends on the recipient’s providers in the cloud,” Moritz wrote recently. “It also depends on the recipient’s devices and security habits and EPRIVO can help to offer more protection.”
