West Chester, PA based small business hosts live fundraiser for non-profit using YouTube Super Chat, a Bubble Machine and a Confetti Launcher

March 13, 2018 --

"“Live streaming on YouTube has helped our non-profit extend our reach beyond our local community,” says Kathleen Gast, Volunteer Coordinator for the Crime Victims Center of Chester County (CVC)."
A Bubble Machine, a Confetti Cannon, and a YouTuber walk into a room… That’s the start of something really special and this week the StreamGeeks hosted a YouTube live fundraiser for an incredible organization that helps Crime Victims in Chester County Pennsylvania.

West Chester, PA - March 13th, 2018 - Local live streaming business, the StreamGeeks, hosted their first ever live donation event using YouTube’s new Super Chat feature. The organization was able to raise over $1,000 for local non-profit, the Crime Victims Center of Chester County who use the donations to purchase materials for child safety, facilitate teen self-esteem groups and fight child sexual assault.

“Live streaming on YouTube has helped our non-profit extend our reach beyond our local community,” says Kathleen Gast, Volunteer Coordinator for the Crime Victims Center of Chester County (CVC). “The money raised today goes directly to child safety, our hotline and sexual assault prevention programs.” The Crime Victims Center of Chester County is located just a few doors away from the StreamGeeks who specialize in helping businesses harness the power of live streaming.

“The total addressable market for nonprofits is incredibly wide-reaching,” says StreamGeeks, Chief Streaming Officer, Paul Richards. “We were able to leverage YouTube’s live streaming platform to bring in donations from around the world. One person even donated from as far away as India!” The StreamGeeks used the YouTube Super IFTTT integration to trigger real-time donation actions. This allowed those who donated to blow up a balloon, turn on a bubble machine and even launch a confetti cannon.
