Barclay Celebrates Their Employees and Customers for Their Stability During COVID-19

SOUTH PLAINFIELD, N.J.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–According to the COVID-19 business classification categories, Barclay is classified as an Essential Businesses in the categories of “vehicle rentals” and “businesses that allow essential businesses to operate.”

Barclay (www.bbfyale.com) has a long history of serving businesses in New Jersey and New York, from Ocean County, NJ to upstate NY. Headquartered in South Plainfield, NJ, They are an authorized Yale material handling dealer and the region’s premier provider of all-brand fleet service, replacement parts, lift trucks, pallet jacks, OSHA training, rental equipment, warehouse equipment and other material handling solutions.

During this ever-changing and challenging time of COVID-19, there were many adjustments that had to be made to comply with Government rules and regulations to keep everyone safe: Working from home, adjusted hours, spending, social distancing, office sanitization, facemasks, and using hand sanitizer, to name a few.

There were certain elements that did not change at Barclay, though. These were: Leadership, focus, drive, positive attitudes, communication, teamwork, belief in the company’s values and customer trust.

The economy was slow. Everyone was concerned. No one had clear direction. Some of Barclay’s competitors were laying off their technicians and staff. Some were applying for loans to keep afloat. Some competitors reduced hours or ceased service completely, leaving their customers without a reliable service provider.

Barclay, however, remained strong. They did not lay off a single technician nor did they reduce their working hours or working days. The company remained open every day. All 50+ technicians were working on the road and in their shop, servicing their valued customers. Barclay is one of the companies who continued to hire during this pandemic.

Being a material handling solution dealer, the company is focused on selling new material handling equipment, services and any ancillary warehouse needs. With an unforeseen situation such as COVID-19, companies usually freeze spending and stop all purchasing. Barclay had answers for this difficult predicament. Their rental department was a key solution for people who needed lift trucks/equipment and were financially challenged. They provided a complete rental solution, combined with accommodating financial arrangements (including payment plans), that met the needs of their struggling customers.

The COVID-19 pandemic has created a new need for the “new normal” and safety awareness. Barclay enhanced safety training programs for these needs. Through their affiliation with Hyster-Yale Group, Barclay was able to provide free online safety training videos to customers as an added value, saving customers money and helping to create a safer employee and work environment.

During this time, Barclay worked proactively and reached out to their customers, offering flexible payment terms and additional service options to limit person-to-person interaction. The solid relationships Barclay had with finance companies enabled them to provide deferred payment terms for those who needed financial assistance. They develop and share very strong partnerships with their customers. Barclay’s dedication to serve them is paramount. There is a mutual trust and respect that create the perfect relationship. Barclay is very grateful for this.

Barclay would like to thank its employees for their dedication, and all of their customers for their support and loyalty.

So how is Barclay surviving COVID-19?

Through our strong leadership, our dedicated team and our valued customer partnerships!!! #TeamBarclay
