Universities Must Keep Exams Going in C-19 Second Wave
Questionmark launches proctoring promotion for universities and colleges
TRUMBULL, Conn.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–#COVID19–Universities must keep exams going if a second wave of Covid-19 hits. A new white paper from Questionmark, the online assessment provider, explores how using the latest assessment technology can maintain the integrity of assessments if exams need to move online.
Questionmark has also released a new proctoring promotion to give universities and colleges confidence that they can keep exams going no matter what. Higher education institutions that sign up for the offer will receive unlimited use of the ‘Record and Review’ service for a flat fee until the end of January 2021.
Colleges and universities have worked hard to ensure digital delivery of learning for the next academic year. Exams must follow suit.
The white paper identifies the following challenges:
- Security of the assessment and guarding against cheating – it is essential that the results of crucial assessments can be trusted.
- Privacy concerns – students have raised concerns that some remote invigilation or proctoring services require access to their computer, including personal files.
- Digital skills deficit among faculty – ahead of the current crisis, developing digital skills among faculty was not a priority in many institutions.
- Lack of integration with assessment platforms – many assessment platforms only support customers with one part of the process. This can make delivering online assessments laborious and time-consuming.
Lars Pedersen, CEO of Questionmark said: “When the world went into lockdown, people understood that crucial exams had to be canceled. Universities have worked hard to ensure digital delivery of learning should physical teaching not be possible. The same will be expected from assessments. Through using proctoring services and accessible enterprise-grade assessment technology, universities can move exams online and guard against cheating.”
Questionmark is offering universities and colleges unlimited use of its ‘Record and Review’ proctoring service for a fixed fee. The offer runs until the 31st January 2021. To take advantage of the offer for unlimited usage, email sales@questionmark.com.
Questionmark Record and Review records the test and flags anomalies for future analysis. These might include irregular head movement or two heads appearing on the screen at the same time, both of which could indicate suspicious behavior. Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology can scan the test-taker’s face and notify the test-setter that footage of the test should be reviewed.
The Questionmark platform is straight forward and easy to use. It does not require a user to have advanced digital skills. It gives customers a one-stop-shop to deliver remote assessments, combining:
- Secure test-taking with a range of proctoring services
- Authoring content
- E-commerce
- Reporting
- Badging for successful candidates
