How Thompson Education Consulting, LLC. is Working to Change Organizational Culture and Close the Cycle of Generational Poverty

MIAMI, FL / ACCESSWIRE / April 23, 2021 / 2020 was a year of change. For better or for worse, this past year ignited tough conversations surrounding healthcare, generational wealth, corporate culture, entrepreneurship, racism, cultural representation, financial literacy, and more. Social entrepreneur, Kwamara Thompson has always been fighting for positive change by leading with her passion for education. As an accomplished speaker, consultant, educator, and activist, Kwamara has started multiple ventures throughout her career to help people improve their lives, to help organizations become equity and empathy focused, and to help alleviate the structures of systemic racism, one of which is Thompson Education Consulting, LLC. TEC is a consulting business that focuses on helping school districts, non-profit organizations, and small businesses, with professional development, programming, and creating high-performing positive work environments.

Entrepreneurship and education are often the best ways to attain financial freedom; to live the quality of life you want to live. As a Black, female entrepreneur, Kwamara wants those in her community to succeed, and through marrying her passions for leadership, activism, and education with TEC, she has been able to help many in her community attain their financial and entrepreneurial goals. Over the past 10 years, multiple initiatives, products, and services have been created under the TEC umbrella, acquiring multiple streams of income, servicing individuals across the country, and helping companies create more equitable, empathetic, and human-centered organizations.

Education leads to positive change and elevation. U.S. Census findings demonstrate that the median household income for a black household is just about $30,000 meanwhile a white family’s household income sits at double that at $60,000. This results in black families being at a disadvantage when it comes to leaving their family wealth, causing generational poverty. TEC works to empower black professionals and entrepreneurs to build multiple forms of income thus beginning the journey to build generational wealth.

Thompson Education Consulting was founded ten years ago with the focus of helping organizations with their strategic growth plan for partnerships, programmatic quality, team building and management with a focus on how to lead with empathy and with equity in mind. TEC also invests in small businesses owned by black women, writers, and artists across the country to help black communities attain financial empowerment and generational wealth.

  • Youtube Channel, I Am a Black Woman, Yes I Matter: One of TEC’s newer ventures is their YouTube series that focuses on elevating the voices of Black Women to a wide inclusive audience. The series puts out monthly hour-long episodes discussing a variety of topics such as the impact of COVID-19, financial empowerment, entrepreneurship, education, health, and politics. The goal of this programming is to create community along with sustainable and actionable change.

  • Ecommerce Store: With the rising popularity of I Am a Black Woman, Yes I Matter, came a demand for TEC’s branded merch. Their online Teespring store, Black Women Matter, sells everything from t-shirts, to hoodies, socks, mugs, and more for black men and women, kids, and allies of the black community.

  • Upcoming Subscription-Based Platform: Kwamara’s upcoming project combines all of her passions into one! Her new subscription-based platform will connect organizations with black professionals and will promote entrepreneurship in the black community. Launching later this year, Kwamara has been hard at work raising funds for this project which she believes will start to end the cycle of generational poverty and start to open a new generation of wealth.
