Zimmerman & Frachtman Scholarship To Award Its Winner For School Year 2020-2021

Florida-based personal injury law firm Zimmerman & Frachtman will be awarding their scholarship winner for the academic year 2020-2021. The student awardee is Jalesia Pouncy, an incoming freshman at the Gupton-Jones Funeral College in Decatur, Georgia.

PARKLAND, FL / ACCESSWIRE / June 26, 2021 / Zimmerman & Frachtman Scholarship recently concluded their scholarship awardee deliberation for the school year 2020-2021. After almost a year of accepting scholarship entries, the program has chosen a winner who will be given a $1,000 financial grant in the fall semester of 2021. Incoming freshman of Gupton-Jones Funeral College, Jalesia Pouncy will be receiving the award.

Pursuing a higher education degree is often perceived as a privilege. However, in today’s competitive world, it almost seems to be a requirement to get higher-caliber opportunities. Many well-paying jobs require at least a Bachelor’s Degree to be eligible for consideration, putting many others who cannot afford college out of the picture.

Personal injury law firm Zimmerman & Frachtman believes in equal opportunities for all. After earning its reputation as competent lawyers over the past 25 years, the company attributes part of its initial success to its higher education which served as a stepping stone towards a professional career. Considering the financial predicament of many hopeful college students who can barely afford higher education expenses, the Florida-based legal firm is deciding to give back through their Zimmerman & Frachtman Scholarship.

The scholarship program recently opened its doors for all incoming and current college students in the U.S. to receive a financial grant. All applicants were asked to submit their educational and contact details, plus an essay to answer the following question: “What are 5 tips you’d give to a new driver to help prevent an accident?”

Recent winner Jalesia Pouncy gave an excellent and concise answer on the bigger picture of the driver’s responsibility. According to Jalesia, driving for the first time is an exciting new privilege, but also comes with an amount of responsibility not just for passengers but for other people on the road.

“It’s an exciting step toward independence and adulthood, but it’s also a big responsibility, and it’s important that you balance this (awesome) freedom with caution and safe behavior,” Jalesia remarked.

“What you do in the driver’s seat not only affects you, but everyone else on the road, too.”

“Keep your eyes on the road. That means no texting, no calling, no eating, no channel surfing on the radio, and no turning around to chat with friends in the backseat. Accidents can happen in a split second, but if you’re paying attention, you’ll have a better chance of avoiding one,” the student added.

Jalesia also gave a strong emphasis against driving under the influence, as this is a major cause of driving accidents.

“DON’T DRIVE UNDER THE INFLUENCE. Just don’t. This includes being under the influence of alcohol, drugs, or lack of sleep. Nobody should have to tell you how severe the consequences can be,” the student concluded.

Zimmerman & Frachtman aims to help students like Jalesia have enough financial resources to pursue their dreams and impact their community. By taking part in providing opportunities, the legal firm believes that they are pursuing justice for all.
