Browning Associates Reviews: – Are Automated Hiring Systems, Preventing an Estimated 27 Million From Finding Work?
Browning Associates Reviews: – Automated hiring systems, such as CV scanners, may be stopping an estimated 27 million people from finding full-time work.
PROVIDENCE, RI / ACCESSWIRE / September 22, 2021 / Browning Associates Reviews:
According to Browning Associates, an executive career consulting firm in Providence, Rhode Island, many executive job seekers are erroneously screened out by AI (Artificial Intelligence) applicant tracking systems and the like. The “Human” in Human Resources is slowly being replaced by automated (In-Humane) screening mechanisms that, according to a recent Harvard Business School report, are just not doing either side justice.
According to the report, Automated hiring systems, such as CV scanners, are stopping an estimated 27 million people from finding full-time work.
Furthermore, the report states, businesses are relying on automatic, or AI-driven tech is turning down viable candidates, which means these people are “hidden” from recruiters.
As many as 75% of employers rely on Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) or AI technology, according to the report. These “hidden workers” are defined as candidates actively seeking employment but who are regularly denied and discouraged by “hiring processes that focus on what they don’t have (such as credentials) rather than the value they can bring (such as capabilities),” the report said.
John Seraichyk, Founder of Browning Associates, says this is another reason personal and professional networking is critical. Don’t put your career search in the incapable hands of Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) and the like. Although the resumes my staff develops are ATS compatible, we rarely rely on traditional resume submissions via corporate websites, etc. Instead, we always suggest utilizing a network contact to reach a decision-maker.
