Annaliese Feininger is the Subject of a New Interview
The Vancouver-based photographer and model sat down to discuss her life, her career, and her professional philosophy.
VANCOUVER, BC / ACCESSWIRE / November 30, 2021 / It is with great enthusiasm that Annaliese Feininger, a professional photographer and model based on Canada’s west coast, announces that she is the subject of a new, in-depth interview. The interview was conducted by a freelance journalist on behalf of an online periodical that concentrates on matters of health and wellness.
Early in the piece, upon being asked why she eschewed commercial photography and struck out on her own as an entrepreneur, Annaliese responds, “I hated the bureaucracy of the commercial art business. I found it to be inauthentic and patronizing. When I first started taking photos, it was not with the objective of making money. My objective was to create art. I did not want to compromise my style to fit into a commercial mold,” she says, before adding that her preferred mode of artistic expression does not lend itself well to the industry. “Being an analog photographer carries with it a great deal of expense and comes with a lot of personal financial risk, but I simply view digital photography to be inauthentic.”
Further along in the interview, Annaliese Feininger fields a practical question about how she motivates her subjects during a photoshoot. “I like getting to know my clients. Prior to a shoot, I will ask them to meet for coffee as a sort of interview process to get to know them better. I’ll ask them how they would like to be portrayed, or if they have any ideas for the photos. I want to know what inspires them. When shooting models, I ask them to choose music to play in the background to make them feel more comfortable. For example, there have been times when I’ve had to shoot half-naked models in public places, so I got half-naked myself to put them more at ease.”
Anyone curious to read the full text of this interview is encouraged to keep watch for its publication in the coming few days.
