ConsenSys Ports EulerBeats’ Generative Music NFT Project To Polygon Ahead of Latest Drop ‘Futura’
EulerBeats’ latest drop, Futura, will benefit from Polygon’s efficient Ethereum scaling platform, reducing gas fees and ensuring scalability for future NFT drops.
NEW YORK, NY / ACCESSWIRE / November 9, 2021 / Leading blockchain software technology company ConsenSys and its recently acquired generative music non-fungible-token (NFT) project, EulerBeats, will release its third NFT drop on Polygon – an Ethereum scaling platform onboarding millions to Web3 – the companies announced today. The migration arrives ahead of EulerBeats’ latest NFT drop, Futura, and comes in an effort to leverage Polygon’s lower costs, greater scalability, and Web3-leading security features.
EulerBeats – recently described by billionaire entrepreneur and Polygon backer Mark Cuban as “the most genius idea ever” – is a Polygon-based NFT music and art project featuring algorithmically-generated ‘generative’ art and audio tracks.
Futura, EulerBeats’ forthcoming NFT drop, will usher in a new phase in remix culture. The Futura drop consists of 8080 randomly generated Futura Mix NFTs, 10 limited edition Futura Master NFTs and an uncapped supply of Futura Remix NFTs. These mixes will lend themselves to be remixed, and the contracts will allow the royalties to flow back to the designated creators (the drummer, guitarist, etc.).
Futura will also herald a radical commercial and creative gain for artists in the music industry, in which generative NFTs provide more control and flexibility over their royalties. It will pave the way for EulerBeats’ open platform, dubbed EB Artist, a platform where musical artists can collaborate to release custom NFT drops composed of generative music and matching generative visuals, enabling artists to continue to reap royalties from secondary sales. Moreover, EB Artists will also let fans buy randomized mixes and permits creators to remix versions of Master tracks. The platform has already distributed millions in royalties and staking rewards to its users.
Tyler Mulvihill, co-founder of EulerBeats, and global Co-Head NFTs at Consensys, said, “Futura is our final frontier which sets up the release of a generative music platform we have been building for months. It is the concept car release for the new EulerBeats initiative: EB Artist. If you could fly through a music NFT, Futura would be it. The release pushes the boundaries of 3D generative art and music and is inspired by the geometric form of a Möbius strip, in a nod to our inspiration, mathematician Leonhard Euler.”
To battle-prove the new process, EulerBeats will be the de facto artist for Futura, with plans to rapidly onboard new artists to the EB Artist platform immediately after the release of Futura. The platform will open entirely to the world of creators in Q1 2022.
The decision to port to Polygon came in line with Ethereum’s increasingly restrictive transaction fees and throughput. With EulerBeats’ emphasis on distributing artists’ royalties resulting from secondary market sales, transitioning to Polygon’s Proof-of-Stake (PoS) network became integral to the project’s success.
Charles Adkins, NFT Lead for Polygon, commented: “EulerBeats is breaking new ground with generative NFTs and stands on the edge of global-scale market opportunities in the creative industries. It needs to be based on a platform that can deliver the scale, low costs, security, and open-source ecosystem that will be essential to realize its commercial and artistic potential. Polygon’s future-proof platform assures ConsenSys that its new acquisition has the right foundations in place to deliver on that potential.”
Futura is the third EulerBeats NFT drop. It follows on from the tradition of the first two EulerBeats drops – Genesis and Enigma – by maintaining its signature generative music and art approach at its core and adding a fresh collection to the EulerBeats brand.
