Sheila Warren Named CEO of the Crypto Council for Innovation
Blockchain expert and former World Economic Forum executive to take lead on crypto association and drive its mission for access, growth, and inclusion
WASHINGTON–(BUSINESS WIRE)–The Crypto Council for Innovation (CCI), a global alliance of crypto industry leaders, today announced Sheila Warren will assume the Chief Executive Officer role. Warren will start on February 2, 2022.

Previously, Warren led executive strategy development and management for the Centre for the Fourth Industrial Revolution at the World Economic Forum. While at the Forum, Warren significantly expanded the organization’s portfolio in her roles as head of data, blockchain and digital assets and founder of the Forum’s blockchain and distributed ledger technology platform. Her many accomplishments include her work with companies and governments around the world to shape technology governance.

Based in San Francisco, Warren previously worked as a senior executive for civic tech organizations including TechSoup, and built NGOsource, an initiative funded by the Gates and Hewlett Foundations. She began her career as a Wall Street attorney at Cravath, Swaine & Moore LLP, after she graduated with honors from Harvard College and Harvard Law School.
Warren currently co-hosts CoinDesk’s top show, Money Reimagined, and serves as a member on several crypto and financial industry boards. She is well-known for her dedication to enhancing inclusion in the blockchain ecosystem.
CCI was established by founding members Block, Coinbase, Fidelity Digital Assets, and Paradigm, and includes members Andreessen Horowitz and Ribbit Capital. Since its launch in April 2021, the alliance co-hosted a bitcoin-focused virtual event featuring Elon Musk, Jack Dorsey, and Cathie Wood and published “Analysis of Bitcoin’s Use in Illicit Finance,” with former CIA Acting Director Michael Morell.
