Prominent Financial Expert Herb Engert Joins CrossCountry Consulting’s Board of Advisors
Former EY Lead Adds to Board’s Deep Transactional Expertise
MCLEAN, Va.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–CrossCountry Consulting, a leading business advisory firm, today announced that private equity subject matter expert Herb Engert has joined the firm’s Board of Advisors. Through this role, Engert will provide strategic guidance to the firm, especially in areas pertaining to entrepreneurship, small business growth, private equity/venture capital, and DEI initiatives.
Engert has more than three decades of experience working with private and public companies on a broad range of corporate deals and advising on all aspects of capital strategy, including preserving, optimizing, raising, and investing. As a former Managing Partner of EY’s New York office and Global Private Equity Leader, he brings significant expertise in working with private equity-backed companies, helping to position them for exit through IPO or mergers and acquisitions (M&A), and employing value creation strategies throughout the lifecycle.
“We are thrilled to welcome Herb to our growing advisory board,” said Erik Linn, Co-Founder and Managing Partner at CrossCountry Consulting. “His experience and reputation in the industry speak for itself; it is an honor to have someone with such a keen understanding of the complex and changing deal landscape to advise our firm as we continue to grow our Private Equity Practice.”
As EY New York’s first LGBTQ Managing Partner, Engert is an outspoken advocate for meaningful diversity and inclusion in the global workplace. A champion of creating cultures of care and belonging, he believes diversity and inclusion are the foundation of future success for all organizations and remains deeply committed to mentoring the next generation of leaders and entrepreneurs.
“With the outlook for M&A and related transactional activity expected to change in light of current market circumstances, it is critical that growth-minded organizations know all their options,” Engert said. “CrossCountry Consulting already has a stellar reputation and an exceptional track record in helping companies solve their most pressing growth challenges; I look forward to sharing what I’ve learned to help in the firm’s success.”
An alum of Harvard Business School’s Strategic Leadership Program, Engert was named by City and State to the Finance 50 Power List, the recipient of the Accounting Alumnus of the Year award from his alma mater, St. John Fisher College, and the 2021 Leadership Award from Junior Achievement New York.
