The MolinaCares Accord Donates $150,000 to Build a New Pharmacy at CrossOver Healthcare Ministry Clinic

RICHMOND, Va.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–The MolinaCares Accord (“MolinaCares”), in conjunction with Molina Healthcare of Virginia (“Molina”), presented a $150,000 check to CrossOver Healthcare Ministry (“CrossOver”) to fund construction of a new pharmacy for its Henrico clinic. The pharmacy, scheduled for groundbreaking in spring 2023, will double CrossOver’s capacity to provide prescription drugs to low-income, uninsured area residents who use the clinic’s services.

“As the only charitable clinic in Richmond with a licensed pharmacy on site, CrossOver’s community pharmacy is vital to the more than 6,600 clients we serve every year,” said Julie Bilodeau, CEO of CrossOver Healthcare Ministry. “This gift from Molina will allow us to continue to make medications accessible for our low-income, uninsured and medically underserved neighbors.”

CrossOver’s community pharmacy provides more than 33,000 prescriptions annually to its clients as well as area residents from five other charitable health care clinics in the greater Richmond area. To continue serving this population effectively, more space is needed for secure storage of medications, a private area for prescription counseling and education, a dedicated workspace for staff, and a larger area allowing more than one pharmacy volunteer to fill prescriptions at a time.

“We are proud to support CrossOver’s mission to bring prescription access to individuals and families who are uninsured,” said James Johnson, plan president of Molina Healthcare of Virginia. “Increasing CrossOver’s capacity to serve aligns with MolinaCares’ focus on improving the health, life, and living in our local communities.”
