Parade Introduces PCIe5 Linear Redriver/2×2 Cross Switch Solutions
PS8580/PS8580V/PS8581 Enable Low Power Operation and Flexible Interconnect for PC/Server/Automotive
SAN JOSE, Calif.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Parade Technologies, Ltd. (Taiwan OTC: 4966.TWO), a leading high-speed interface, video display, and touch controller IC supplier, announces the availability of the PS8580/PS8580V/PS8581 PCIe5 32Gbps linear redriver/2×2 cross switch family. PS8580 and PS8580V integrate a quad-channel unidirectional linear redriver with a 2×2 cross switch while PS8581 features a linear redriver only. PS8580/PS8581 are designed for notebook/desktop PC, server/datacenter and industrial applications while PS8580V supports automotive AEC-Q100 grade 2 requirements. Multiple PS858x devices support x4, x8 or x16 bidirectional link. PS858x family is compliant with PCIe5 specification.
The PS858x family features industry’s lowest active power – approximately 72mW/channel for 32Gbps operation, and the smallest package/footprint. L1PM power management results in a sub-mW ultra-low standby power. The low power features facilitate high-speed system implementation and greatly extend the battery life of mobile devices.
The PS8580 and PS8580V include a 2×2 cross switch which enables multiple connection topologies. It supports the applications of two RCs (Root Complex) sharing with one EP (End Point), two EPs with one RC, or two RCs with two EPs. This allows OEMs to implement high performance PCIe5 interconnect, storage and graphics systems. One example would be a gaming PC motherboard with dual graphics slots (two EPs) sharing a PCIe5 bus from the CPU (one RC).
“PS858x family features industry’s lowest operation power for PCIe5 linear redriver/switch,” says Jimmy Chiu, Executive VP of Marketing at Parade Technologies. “OEMs can now enable PCIe5 32Gbps support for power sensitive mobile devices, servers and automotive designs. The 2×2 crossbar switch allows for flexible interconnect configurations for high performance systems.”
Availability
The PS8580, PS8580V and PS8581 are sampling. They comes in a 2.8mm x 6mm 38-pin QFN Halogen free RoHS package. PS8580 and PS8581 are available in commercial (0 to +70oC) and industrial temperature (-40 to +85oC) versions. PS8580V supports automotive AEC-Q100 grade 2 temperature (-40 to +105 oC).
