HPC-AI Advisory Council and PC Cluster Consortium to Host 1st Annual Japan Conference

Conference to Provide Platform for Shared Learning and Expertise in HPC and AI Technologies and Future Innovations

SUNNYVALE, Calif. & TOKYO–(BUSINESS WIRE)–#aiThe for community benefit HPC-AI Advisory Council (HPCAIAC) in collaboration with Japan’s PC Cluster Consortium (PCCC) today announced the inaugural Japan Conference will take place on 26 January, 2021. Both the HPCAIAC’s first collaboration and conference in Japan, the jointly hosted sessions will be held virtually from 14:00-17:00 (JST) combining thought leadership and immersive sessions across HPC and AI domains and disciplines – the innovative research, techniques, tools and technologies that fuel economies, productivity and progress globally.

Currently its sixth active annual conference, and seventh since the HPCAIAC’s 2008 founding, the 2021 Japan Conference will feature a condensed afternoon agenda with invited talks from renowned experts including: Kouta Nakashima, Fujitsu Labs; Shinichiro Takizawa, the National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology (AIST) and leading academic institutions including DK Panda, The Ohio State University; Taisuke Boku, University of Tsukuba; Toshihiro Hanawa, The University of Tokyo; and Susumu Date, University of Osaka. Conference cohost Mitsuhisa Sato, PCCC President, will introduce PCCC’s member-based organization that was founded in 2001 to support dissemination of open source software; the Special Interest Groups (SIG) to develop new markets and activities and contribution policies for introducing new technology for HPC cluster design and use.
