Cresting Wave Publishing Celebrates Anniversary of “You Buy A Book, We Plant A Tree!”
LOS ANGELES, CA / ACCESSWIRE / March 1, 2021 / Cresting Wave Publishing, a member of the Independent Book Publishers Association, is celebrating the anniversary of its “You Buy a Book, We Plant a Tree!” program.
In March 2020, Cresting Wave entered into a partnership with One Tree Planted (www.onetreeplanted.org). The concept was simple: for every book, Cresting Wave sells, (paperback or ebook), the company donates one dollar to One Tree Planted to plant trees across the United States and internationally.
According to Laura Herrera, Co-Founder and Vice President of Marketing at Cresting Wave, “We’re honored to have reforestation through One Tree Planted as an integral part of our business model. Trees clean our air and water, create habitats for biodiversity, contribute to our health and well-being, and create jobs for social impact.”
She continued, “According to the World Wildlife Foundation, between 2004 and 2017 over 160,000 square miles, an area roughly the size of California, has been lost to deforestation around the world and this number keeps growing. Cresting Wave feels compelled to do our part in this crisis. That’s why we launched this partnership with One Tree Planted and why we extend an invitation to readers of all ages to join with us in this effort by ordering one of our books today.”
Hererra suggested two popular titles:
Harrison Waits by Missy Hagen. Literary Titan’s review of Harrison Waits says the book “is quite simply the cutest I have read in quite some time. Each page has a cute picture, illustrated in a soft color scheme, that is reminiscent of the classic cartoons in newspapers. I know that I have told my young child plenty of times to ‘wait’, and I just expected them to know what I was talking about. This book gives parents and caregivers the perfect opportunity, and resource, to talk about the idea of waiting. It also helps give children the tools they’ll need to wait, by showing them different activities they could be doing while waiting. Author Missy Hagen has written a wonderfully charming book, with rhymes and cute images, that will keep children’s attention and educate them as well. This is perfect for parents or teachers that are caring for young children that find themselves waiting.”
Buddha is a Greeter at Walmart: Using Zen in Everyday Life by Kris Neely. An Amazon #1 Best Seller in Zen Buddhism. The idea is simple: everyday items and situations as sources of Zen insight. From a junk drawer to a butterfly. From Ginger Rogers to Colonel Mustard. We’re surrounded by items and situations which teach Zen-if we just take the time to see. Zen is everywhere and Zen is everyone-even the greeter at Walmart.
