Yahu Blackwell Debuts Goldenboy Promotions, For The WBC Regional Heavyweight Title

BALTIMORE, MD / ACCESSWIRE / March 29, 2021 / Yahu Blackwell has been an enigma within the boxing world. Many witnessed this young fighter’s amazing talent and boxing prowess, but forever wondering “When will he show the world?” Looks like that time has finally arrived.

Blackwell (vs) Galvan is set for April 23rd, 2021 at the Don Haskins Center in El Paso, Texas. Promoted by Oscar De la Hoya’s “Goldenboy Promotions” and DAZN. The bout is featured on the undercard of middleweight sensation Jaime Munguia.

Yahu Blackwell is a Baltimore native by way of Ghana (EVEO), he has 184 amateur bouts, 19 bouts combined as a professional, winning a WBU championship at (175lbs) and has now moved up in weight to face Galvan for a WBC regional heavyweight championship.

“I’m excited for this fight, I’ve been waiting for this moment for a long time, I plan on making a statement on April 23rd. I wanna thank my team, my coaches; Daniel Goodin, Coach Gustavo, Coach Crisco and my mentor Leonard “Boogie” Weinglass for always believing in me,” says Blackwell.

Yahu Blackwell is dedicating this fight to his mother, the late “Sandra Blackwell” whose life was cut short in 2015.

An impressive victory over Galvan, not only puts WBC gold around Blackwell’s waist, but opens the landscape for future mega fights within the heavyweight division. Galvan is a rugged, power puncher who comes to fight. Blackwell says he will be more than ready.

Hassim “The Rock” Rahman was Baltimore’s very first heavyweight champion. I believe we are witnessing the rise of the second to come. Time will tell.
