Cotiviti to Present on Artificial Intelligence at Ai4 2021 Healthcare Summit
Executive Vice President Nicole Neumarker will join panel on leveraging AI to reduce healthcare waste
SALT LAKE CITY–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Cotiviti, a leader in data-driven healthcare solutions, will share insights on how organizations can use AI technologies to reduce healthcare fraud, waste, and abuse (FWA) at the Ai4 2021 Healthcare Summit. Cotiviti executive vice president of development and innovation Nicole Neumarker will discuss how fraudulent activity within healthcare represents $100 billion+ lost each year and what organizations can do to solve this ongoing issue in the panel discussion, “Reducing Fraud, Waste & Abuse with AI.”
Neumarker will draw on her deep artificial intelligence and machine learning expertise to highlight how payer and provider organizations can leverage AI-driven technologies to optimize cost and quality, as well as curb the industry’s longstanding issues with waste and other inefficiencies. She will also discuss Cotiviti’s deep experience working with FWA clients to address healthcare waste. Additionally, Neumarker will highlight the role of the company’s Caspian Clarity data platform in helping health plans and other stakeholders detect and eliminate wasteful spending. Caspian Clarity represents one of the most complete longitudinal datasets in healthcare and contains data of approximately 60% of all U.S. healthcare transactions, and permissive access to this vast amount of data has allowed Cotiviti to provide critical insights to clients.
“Artificial intelligence is poised to overhaul how payers and providers catch fraudulent and wasteful behaviors,” said Neumarker. “For health plans in particular, access to myriad amounts of data combined with AI-driven data analytics capabilities are key to flagging suspicious utilization and claiming patterns for internal review and reducing risk of emerging threats. If payers and providers can work together to solve the massive waste problem in healthcare, it could ultimately represent an opportunity to allocate significant resources into improving patient outcomes.”
Neumarker will be joined by other industry luminaries on the panel, including Jon Hamdorf, chief operating officer at United Healthcare Community Plan of Kansas, UnitedHealth Group; Stephen Wong, John S. Dunn presidential distinguished chair and chief research informatics officer, Houston Methodist; and Pete Ellis, chief product officer at Red Box. The panel of healthcare leaders will share their different perspectives on how AI and machine learning can boost value and help to solve healthcare’s $100 billion+ waste problem.
Neumarker’s panel, “Reducing Fraud, Waste & Abuse with AI” will take place virtually on Thursday, May 6, 2021 from 2:30 – 3:20 PM ET.
