International Tree of Life Church Offers Alternative Spiritual Approach for African-Americans
Veteran Pastor Says Freedom From Generational Curses Is Possible
FREDERICK, MD / ACCESSWIRE / December 20, 2021 / A 2016 study by the Economic Policy Institute showed as many as one in ten African-American students has an incarcerated parent. One in four has a parent who is or has been incarcerated. In addition, an African American child is six times as likely as a white child to have or have had an incarcerated parent.
Incarceration, addiction, and domestic abuse are considered generational curses that have plagued many African American families for decades. Children fall into the same destructive patterns as their parents and grandparents, and frequently, young lives are ruined. Hope vanishes, and families become trapped in a never-ending cycle of despair.
Many African American families don’t seek treatment or counseling because they don’t trust traditional mental health programs. Instead, many families seek a faith-based approach and place their trust in their church.
Apostle Clement Mbuyi, Senior Pastor of the Tree of Life Church in Frederick, MD, helps individuals and African American families break generational curses. He lived with generational curses in his own family. Spiritual counseling helped him break through his emotional pain and find healing and a new way of life.
When Mbuyi was six years old, he was sexually abused and later developed ongoing health issues. Medical doctors tried to find the cause of his health problems and were unsuccessful. Mbuyi says one on one spiritual counseling freed him emotionally and physically because he was able to identify the root cause of his problem. He developed his one-on-one counseling method and finds it is more effective than the traditional group strategies many pastors utilize in church settings. Mbuyi says, “I tried the group approach, and I became frustrated because it frequently did not touch or address the root cause of the problem.”
In one-on-one sessions, the root cause of a generational curse is identified by examining the past, including family history, and identifying other family members who faced the same problems. Mbuyi says, “We discuss a client’s personal life and their dreams, from both childhood and adulthood. Once I identify the root cause of the problem, I create an individualized spiritual program of prayer and fasting and lead each client through the process.”
While the power of prayer can’t be scientifically measured, The International Tree of Life church say Mbuyi’s alternative method has helped many African American families seeking treatment for generational curses.
Mbuyi says, “I have seen many lives transformed and curses broken in the process. I have received numerous testimonies after praying with individuals or families. I’ve also seen families incorporate my practices into their daily lives for continued benefits and long-term health.” He adds, “Together, we can break the generational curses that hold so many African American families back from true happiness and fulfillment. We can help millions of people restore their lives and live in true joy and spiritual fulfillment.
