AI To Make A Notable Impact On Several Public Sectors

By Akshita Pacholi

The impact of Artificial Intelligence (AI) is increasing more day by day in our lives. AI has invaded almost in every field, improvising it with new inventions and solutions benefiting our society to a significant extent. Where, on the one hand people are getting more addicted to the technology, industries, on the other hand, are involving AI-based technologies to promote their ideas. But every updating technology demands money, and somewhere this restrains their scope. Industries have grown to provide solutions for such troublesome situations.

AI is now being used widely in an array of fields, increasing its significance in more than one way. Yet most of the fields still require more of its potential, needing some innovative and profitable solutions. Providing a helping hand with the AI-based technologies, many researchers, developers and inventors headed their ways towards solutions. AI has a vast scope, and therefore, a vast range of inventions are yet to get invented. Yet there are certain new inventions that are demonstrating extraordinary emulsions over humankind.

Basically, other developing fields of a Nation are inversely proportional to agricultural sector. Low wages and fewer labors are the most common factors that affect the production and henceforth the growth of this field. This is where AI has proved to be a boon, providing a helping hand for the sector. Enlarged technologies are therefore, developing robots based on AI, for watering, growing and, cultivating the crops and even for controlling weeds. Recently, a start-up company, thingc Robotics in Melbourne, had showcased a “simple and Robust” organic weed controlling robot, during an event in TECHSPO, which was held at the Katanning Research Facility. The developer informed that the small-sized robots are easily comparable to the massive robots in terms of techniques, operation and, affordability as well.

The progress that AI has achieved in recent years is unparallel in nature. The technology has provided solutions for various issues. Say it a self-operating machine, a robot, a self-driven car or a drone. An aircraft that can capture photos, deliver products, and perform various wonderstruck activities is what we call a Drone. Such AI-based technologies are also getting used for government-based projects. In UAE, the environment ministry of Emirates used drone for an aerial drone project, to collect data in order to bring future growth. The project has involved assisting with census and mapping of wildlife and green fields. The drone provided interesting demographical insights, of the country along with every small observation that can be covered by it. The collected data presented the number of growing crops, farms, rearing animals, varieties of fruit trees and windbreakers, warehouses, and wells along with the smallest information possible. The officials further informed that the project will help them for decision making and planning for further development.

Well, what if AI-based technology could also tell us our fatal future, so that we can take enough precautionary measures in advance.  Fujitsu, a Japanese company, is developing a technology that will predict river flooding, the most common disaster, which leaves nothing but huge losses. Materialistic losses and loss of lives, the two major threats caused due to floods, can now be conserved. The developers presented a model of their newly invented technology that includes intuitions from hydrology that will predict the flooding with greater accuracy. Most importantly, it will also be useful for small rivers with newly installed water level sensors that don’t have sufficient data. The technology will offer an important tool for the authorities to create a faster response which will help in reducing the damage by flood. These solutions will certainly be very much helpful for one and all.

Even though AI has occupied its vicinity in technical, agricultural, educational, transportations, finance and healthcare fields, the potential that it poses can still be enlarged further. The technology is considerate and supportive towards future as well, enhancing its scope. According to a report by Allied Market Research the global artificial intelligence market size is projected to reach $169,411.8 million in 2025, increasing at a CAGR of 55.6% from 2018 to 2025.

Also, AI possesses almost all the human characteristics including language understanding, problem-solving and learning solutions. And, companies, on the other hand, are bringing them to the next level by availing more features to them. No-doubt AI will surround us in upcoming years, with both of its good and bad features whereas we are all going to be dependent on them for various purposes. Most of the new start-ups are investing in AI-based technologies that are driving its growth in the global market. The adoption of the technologies based on AI is growing as well, providing its users with satisfaction, thereby creating multiple opportunities for the key players in the industry.
