Donovan Energy Names Andrew Ritch Partner and Chief Revenue Officer

Former Duke Energy executive brings expertise in finance and business development to growing energy solutions provider

CINCINNATI–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Donovan Energy, a leading provider of clean energy solutions, has named Andrew Ritch its Chief Revenue Officer and newest partner. Ritch brings more than 20 years of finance, electric utility and business development experience, most recently as Manager of Distributed Energy Technology Strategy at Duke Energy Corp. Ritch will oversee Donovan’s national business development and sales strategies, adding an experienced perspective as the company continues to expand its client portfolio.

As Chief Revenue Officer, Ritch will focus on accelerating Donovan Energy’s growth in key customer markets – including education, healthcare, commercial real estate and industrial, municipal and parking facilities – and explore new areas for strategic growth.

“Donovan Energy is at an exciting crossroads,” said Tim Donovan, who founded the company in 2016. “We’re showing business leaders how to transform their approach to energy, and Andrew’s industry experience and track record of innovation will help us take those conversations to a deeper level and with a wider audience. We’re expanding the menu of services we offer to help clients simultaneously create value, conserve resources, and improve the world around us. Andrew knows how to tell that impact story in a compelling way.”

Prior to joining Donovan Energy, Ritch spent more than 16 years at Duke Energy and was responsible for providing overall strategy and direction for renewable energy assets for the company’s regulated businesses in Ohio, Kentucky and Indiana. Before that, he spent five years as an associate at a private bank based in New York. That combination of electric utility and finance experience made him an ideal fit for Donovan Energy.

“We’re at the forefront of clean energy technology and solutions,” added Donovan. “That means we’re helping clients navigate the intersection of energy and finance. On the one hand it’s about reducing energy usage and increasing production of renewable energy. On the other, it’s understanding how to create business value and manage project financing in the midst of those solutions. Andrew can bring those two issues into clear focus for our clients.”

Ritch earned his BA from Colby College and an MBA from the F.W. Olin Graduate School of Business at Babson College. He serves as a trustee on several boards, including Turner Farm, one of the largest certified-organic farms in Ohio and The Greater Cincinnati Energy Alliance, among others.

“I’ve always been interested in the linkage between energy efficiency and clean energy generation as a way to permanently reduce a company’s operating costs, generate cash and promote sustainability,” said Ritch. “The team at Donovan Energy lives this every day – helping meet the needs of both our clients and the environment with a smart, hands-on approach.”
