C-Sweet Webinar: “Race Relations in the Workplace” Seeks Answers and Understanding for Greater Diversity

August 27 Event Features Business Experts to Help Navigate Thorny Issues

LOS ANGELES–(BUSINESS WIRE)–C-Sweet, a rapidly growing organization with a mission to foster and renew executive level relationships for women across sectors in business and industry, today announced a new Webinar – Race Relations in the Workplace – set for Thursday, August 27, at 11:30 AM PST. With highly charged racial events happening this summer and COVID-19 “work from home” guidelines, face to face meaningful conversations with management and staff on issues of race is more difficult than ever.

C-Sweet has assembled two experts in Human Resources and Racial Equality to help individuals navigate thorny waters when it comes to racial tensions on the news to the workplace environment. Dr. Tana M. Session, author of “Working While Black: A Woman’s Guide to “Stop Being the Best Kept Secret®” and Carolyn Sims, C-Sweet Executive Committee Member and Sr. Advisor with Southern California Edison, discuss these issues and more.

“Many people are afraid to talk about race at work because they are worried about saying something wrong or offending someone,” said Dianne Gubin, President of Amplify Professional Services Inc, an executive search and IT consulting firm, and Co-CEO of C-Sweet. “Many organizations focus on equality and apply this to their diversity and inclusion policies. But you have to ask why equity is for Black employees and the community so important? Is there a difference between equity and equality? How can you make a difference? We are delighted to offer two speakers who can provide illumination and understanding for this tough question.”

“When executive women work together, we can make a difference for our business and our communities,” said Beth Hilbing, Sr. Program Manager and Principal IT Business Partner at Boeing, as well as Co-CEO of C-Sweet.

C-Sweet corporate sponsors for this event include Interpublic Group (IPG) and Google.
