Remarkable Recording Artist and Two-Time Cancer Survivor, ARIA Giorgio, Is on a Mission to Empower Others Through Music

VANCOUVER, BC / ACCESSWIRE / March 25, 2021 / Arianna Giorgio is an accomplished LA-based recording artist who’s defied the limitations of cancer diagnoses and a debilitating car-crash in the pursuit of her career. Today, despite and because of the adversity life has handed her, Arianna continues to create the music she loves, sharing her experience through it.

The power of music has long been linked to a number of physical and mental enhancements in the human body. Researchers from John Hopkins, Harvard, and many other professional institutions have discovered music’s ability to reduce anxiety, blood pressure, and pain while also improving sleep quality, mood, mental alertness, and memory.

Patients who engage in music therapy during their recovery have shown improved medical outcomes following hospital stays and chemotherapy.

For those who often question the real-life success of such studies, Arianna Giorgio is a powerful voice in favor of the buzz.

The Los Angeles-based recording artist, performer, and songwriter has experienced the healing power of music throughout her own miraculous health recoveries (and yes, recoveries as in plural, not singular) while simultaneously healing her thousands of fans through her musical creations.

What makes Arianna’s story one for the ages is that her professional artistic accomplishments persisted despite her fight to survive not one, but two cancer diagnoses. And when the sailing appeared to be smooth for the young success, she found herself once again in the hospital following a major car accident.

Amongst this, Arianna turned to her music. As both an outlet of expression and a healing mechanism, music has proved invaluable to her recovery journey. Today, she shares her story with thousands, inspiring survivors from all walks of life to push forth with their dreams despite the adversity that threatens their path.

Take It From The Top
Born to a family of musicians, Arianna knew from a young age that her passion was to pursue a career in music. This passion brought her to LA, where she studied performing arts. Mere months into the program, she was diagnosed with terminal cancer, given five years to live with treatment. The devastating diagnosis was met by her ability to fight. Her determination to conquer cancer was successful, and she soon found herself in eager pursuit of living her dream in the city of angels.

Unfortunately, that wasn’t the end. Arianna’s cancer came back once more and this time it had spread. Just like before, doctors gave her a life-expectancy date of less than a year.

With a sense of deja vu, she faced her own mortality and fought off cancer yet again. Having done it before, she chose to pursue less traditional treatment options in an attempt to enjoy life amidst the fight, and victory was once again achieved.

Her determination to stick to her studies regardless of her diagnoses allowed her to go on to graduate with her BFA in Music and continue to build up her career as a musician. The hard fight had been fought, and everything was looking up.

Arianna continued to record songs at Atlantic Records where she produced her albums, including her first single. Unfortunately, the highs are all too often followed by lows, and Arianna’s life plans shifted once again.

The Fight Continues
In celebration of her one-year cancer-free milestone, Arianna set out on a road trip. Unfortunately, this road trip came to a devastating halt when the car Arianna was driving in was involved in a major car accident that left her incapable of walking and talking. She had to re-learn not just how to use her legs, but how to use her voice as well.

“Losing my ability to sing was my greatest fear,” shared the artist. “Music is a crucial part of my life, losing it would have been a major loss to my identity.”

During her recovery, Arianna was met with the news that her father had also suffered a health emergency. Together, the two musicians supported each other through their recovery. Her father and love of music were there to help through the healing process. She continued to build herself back up with the love and support of her family and her passion for music.

Musical Career

With music being the guiding force throughout her 3-stage recovery journey, Arianna is coming out the other side with a refreshed sense of artistic purpose.

Performing under the stage name Aria, an Italian word that refers to a piece of music with a single set of vocals and orchestral accompaniment, the artist was a regular performer at local LA stages in pre-COVID days. Following the release of her first album, she even took to the road during her 4-month US tour. Today, she interacts with her fans virtually, continuing to speak to the thousands who have found inspiration from her music and her journey.

Her lyrics, both catchy and poetic, expand across various musical styles. “I Need Music,” shares with listeners an upbeat hit, embodying vocal powerhouses like KT Tunstall and Kelly Clarkson.

Alone,” a single recorded with fellow artist Adam Chambers, shares with listeners a slower auditory experience. Together, the duo made a music video showcasing gorgeous cinematography.

As a spoken word poet, Arianna crafted I Put You in this Box as a stunning piece of poetry. The lyrical libretto of the poem will leave listeners in tears. Having received over 25,000 views and counting, the performance has been featured on the popular spoken-word channel, Button Poetry, alongside famous poets like Sarah Kay and Rudy Francisco.

Building a Community
With over 40,000 subscribers on Tiktok, Arianna is creating a community for all those in search of advice. She shares practical tips for managing mental health and shifting mindset. Whatever the struggle, Arianna shares with her audience that pain matters, and no feeling, physical or mental, is too small.

The traumatic experiences of her past have shaped her into who she is today, and she shares with followers what strategies she employed to help cope throughout this journey.

Her raw and honest advice creates a sense of authenticity in a world notoriously absent. In the online era, a lot of what we see is an airbrushed reflection of a fake reality. In fact, some people say that 99.9% of celebrity posts are photoshopped. Arianna challenges those stereotypes and brings awareness to the real world of coping with trauma. No filters. No photoshop. No sugarcoating. Healing is a hard process and Arianna is not afraid to show the parts most of us prefer to hide.

What’s Next?
Arianna Giorgio is not one to lay idle, despite being only 8 months into the recovery of her accident, she has much up her sleeve. On March 14th, she released her new single “Rule the World” which was inspired by her brother. While she started writing it before the accident, it’s taken on a new meaning and she describes it as her comeback anthem. Two other singles are set to be released within the coming months.

In light of the thousands of survivors who have reached out for advice and inspiration, Arianna has recently begun working as a personal coach. She teaches others what it means to heal and how to accept the hard days.

When the world reopens, Arianna has plans to take her lyrical creations and spoken word inspirations on the road, sharing her story with a larger audience.

As she says in her poem, “God didn’t have to decide if I was worth it, because I already had.” No matter what happens, Arianna Giorgio is a heroine and she won’t let anything stop her from making music and sharing that love with the world.
