Building Hope Introduces Discount Purchasing Program for Advanced Air and Surface Purifying Technology to Accelerate Charter Schools’ Safe Return to In-Person Learning

WASHINGTON–(BUSINESS WIRE)–#charterschools–Recognizing the immediate need to get students back in the classroom safely, Building Hope, a non-profit foundation dedicated to identifying and financing viable facilities so that all students have access to a quality K-12 education, today announced a new program to provide deeply discounted, advanced air and surface purifying technology to help charter schools create healthier, safer spaces.

Through Building Hope’s Discount Purchasing Program, charter schools may acquire ActivePure Vollara Air & Surface Pro purifier systems, which safely destroy 99% of common surface and airborne contaminates, including SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19) and other viruses, bacteria, mold, and allergens in high-occupancy areas.

“It is no secret that COVID-19 significantly impacted school operations and student learning, particularly for those who were already disadvantaged,” said Building Hope President Joseph Bruno. “We wanted to find an innovative way to ensure a safe learning environment for all students, faculty, and staff, so we found the most advanced purification technology available and made it available at a below-market rate so charter schools everywhere can quickly proceed with their fall planning with peace of mind and a focus on their students’ education.”

Charter schools can utilize Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES Act) funds to take full advantage of Building Hope’s Discount Purchasing Program. Building Hope also offers alternative financing options and funding advances for those schools and clients where CARES funds are not immediately available.

“The ActivePure units provide us comfort that our school is doing everything we can to keep our students safe,” said Regina Lauricells, Founding Principal, Philip’s Academy Charter School of Paterson.” Forty-two units have been sent to the school in New Jersey. Another charter school in Florida ordered 500 units to cover every building on every campus.
