Iglesia Ni Cristo Discusses the Importance of the Aid to Humanity Outreach Program

TORONTO, ON / ACCESSWIRE / August 26, 2021 / The Aid to Humanity outreach program plays an essential role in many communities globally, including Canada, Australia, the Philippines, United States, Japan, Kenya, and the United Kingdom. Established in 1981, the program delivers essential resources to communities that need them. It forms part of Iglesia Ni Cristo (INC) (Church of Christ), which operates the program as a humanitarian initiative.

Also known as Lingap sa Mamamayan, the initiative has benefited thousands of people since its inception. Examples of humanitarian services offered by the program include medical and livelihood assistance.

Iglesia Ni Cristo (Canada) recently discussed the program’s relevance in today’s troubled world. The church hosted Aid to Humanity events in support of critical humanitarian initiatives. These events align with the Bible’s teachings; they promote human interaction and understanding.

The Biblical Doctrine

INC focuses on imparting the biblical doctrine and assisting communities that need them. In addition, the religious organization fosters understanding among various faith groups for the greater good of humanity. Some recent Lingap sa Mamamayan events conducted in Africa, Asia, and the Middle East provided a platform for the church to spread goodwill and universal understanding across different regions.

In 2018, more than 30,000 people benefited from Aid to Humanity outreach programs. The initiatives covered several African countries, such as Malawi and Kenya. It is no surprise that the program broke records and earned a place in the Guinness World Records over the years. Examples of records include the largest dental health check, blood sugar levels tests, and blood pressure checks performed in eight hours.

Another historic humanitarian exercise conducted by the religious organization occurred in 2017. Iglesia Ni Cristo distributed almost half a million goods to communities and provided free essential services to 104 areas.

Campaign Against Poverty

Iglesia Ni Cristo continues to demonstrate an unwavering commitment to the global campaign against poverty. In 2019, the church organized a comprehensive outreach campaign in several Canadian cities. The campaign stood out as one of the largest Aid to Humanity initiatives in North America.

Recipients from marginalized communities, such as orphanages, single-parent households, immigrants, and disabled persons, received gifts. The campaigns took place in Vancouver, Montreal, Toronto, Ottawa, and Edmonton. Organizers focused on the vulnerable sections of society.

Some beneficiaries of the campaign against poverty include:

Orphan Sun (Soleil des Orphelins),

Norquay Center Children’s Orphanage

Montreal Children’s Hospital Foundation

Ottawa Food Bank

Mile End Community Mission

Ma Mawi Chi Itata Center

YMCA

Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church of Christ) distributed thousands of loot bags to the beneficiaries. The bags contained canned foods, ponchos, fleece blankets, noodles, hats, ready-to-eat meals, toothbrushes, and other goodies. INC also handed the recipients checks.
