The Augustus A. White III Institute for Healthcare Equity Comes to Boston, MA

MARTHA’S VINEYARD, Mass.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–The Island of Martha’s Vineyard will host the launch of the Augustus A. White III Institute for Healthcare Equity on August 19, 2021. The breakfast event will take place at the Harbor View Hotel in Edgartown.

VIPs from the fields of medicine, education, law, finance and social justice will gather to honor Dr. White at the launch focusing on Healthcare Equity. Excellent healthcare is not available to all.

Our Unique Approach to Addressing Health Inequity

The Institute will serve as a convening entity to bring together various stakeholder groups to enhance existing solutions or new solutions with a focus on 3 strategic priorities: healthcare programming, community engagement, and healthcare working groups. Working with Stakeholders, the Institute will prioritize uniting business professionals, allies, community organizations, government officials and health professionals. Launch guest speakers include:

Dr. Louis Sullivan, health policy leader, minority health advocate, author, physician, and educator. Dr. Sullivan served as the Secretary of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services during President George H. W. Bush’s Administration and was Founding Dean of the Morehouse School of Medicine.

Dr. Robert Satcher is Associate Professor in the Department of Orthopaedic Oncology at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas. Dr. Satcher is a former Astronaut, having served as a mission specialist who visited the International Space Station.
