Workshop Series Examines Global Measures to Restore Consumer Trust in Communications

iconectiv to participate in International Telecommunication Union workshop on November 29, at 7:00 a.m. ET

–(BUSINESS WIRE)–#IIOT–iconectiv:

What:

Robocalling is a world-wide epidemic that affects businesses and consumers in every corner of the globe. In 2020, North America and Europe alone received a total of 157.4 billion robocalls. Recognizing the far-reaching consequences of this growing problem and the need to regain and safeguard consumer trust, industry leaders launched robocall mitigation and anti-spoofing initiatives to restore and preserve the ecosystem.

As the policy administrator of the world’s first deployment of STIR/SHAKEN—a framework of interconnected standards that digitally authenticate phone numbers to verify that a call is coming from the authentic source—iconectiv’s Chris Drake alongside global leaders will join the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) workshop series to examine the different measures to cope with the vulnerabilities of existing networks, services and protocols.

Who:

iconectiv’s Chris Drake is responsible for internal and external technology initiatives including emerging opportunities in trusted communications, cybersecurity, mobile content, mobile identity, virtualization and M2M/IoT. He contributes to various GSMA efforts including the Fraud and Security Group, The Networks Group and the Industry Specification Approving Group.
