Special Delivery: NRIA’s Elves Donate Toys to Children in Need

NJ real estate development firm partners with Toys For Tots this holiday season

SECAUCUS, NJ / ACCESSWIRE / December 27, 2021 / National Realty Investment Advisors (NRIA), a leading developer of luxury real estate on the East Coast, is pleased to announce that this year’s NRIA Toys For Tots holiday toy drive was a resounding success.

Not all elves come from the North Pole, NRIA found. Some, it seems, hail from New Jersey.

Jesenia Amarilla, a recruiting director for the Secaucus, New Jersey-based real estate developer NRIA, donned her best elf suit to collect toys that the company then donated to children in need for the holiday.

NRIA’s toy drive, which recently wrapped up for the season, benefitted the United States Marine Corps.’ Toys For Tots program.

“We didn’t just have Jesenia the Elf helping out as we gathered up all the toys; we had a reindeer too,” said Veronica Villalobos, Public Relations Liaison and Executive Assistant to the construction department for NRIA. “Who can’t help but feel the holiday spirit when your employees are dressed up like that?”

Villalobos acknowledged that the toy drive was the collaborative effort of all employees at NRIA’s Secaucus headquarters. And because NRIA is not the only tenant of their building at 11 Harmon Plaza, the toy collection boxes were filled by employees from outside NRIA too.

“Our toy boxes held the collective donations of all of the people on all ten floors of our building,” Villalobos said. “11 Harmon Plaza went above and beyond. Together, we donated six PODS worth of toys. Eight pallets of toys! It was fantastic to see.”

To move the toys from NRIA’s headquarters over to the Toys For Tots collection site, the Morristown Fire Department and the soldiers of the Picatinny Arsenal were there to help.

“We can’t thank them enough,” said Villalobos. “And a special thank you to firefighter Dominic Prizzi. We couldn’t have done it without him.”

For Villalobos, the toy drive has a special meaning. Born and raised in Hudson County, she understands what it’s like to grow up in a blue-collar family in the area. “It’s not easy,” she said. “Even just one gift under the tree can make a difference for some of these families.”

A not-for-profit charity, The Toys for Tots Foundation has been collecting and distributing toys to families in need in Hudson County since 1947.

And for NRIA, donating to Toys for Tots was an opportunity to give back to the community that it builds in, where many NRIA employees, like Villalobos, have roots.

“As a real estate developer, we can create a sense of community in the areas that we build,” said Anthony Gramuglia, Communications Manager for NRIA. “It would be wrong for a business to focus simply on how to profit from a community. Every town has an area in need, and we must help where we can. We are here to build a foundation on which others can stand.”

NRIA’s Villalobos added that many people in the Secaucus area are struggling with the weight of the pandemic. These parents needed a little extra help this holiday, she said, and NRIA was happy to step up.

“We had a 10-foot U-Haul full of toys to give,” she said, “with a banner proudly displaying the NRIA name.”

The toys donated from 11 Harmon Plaza ranged from baby books and craft kits to hoverboards and video games, she said.

For NRIA’s “elf,” Jesenia Amarilla, giving back to the community in such a hands-on way warmed her heart.

“I loved being part of something that did so much good,” she said. “It really brought the holiday spirit alive.”
