The Chartis Center for Rural Health Announces Annual Top 100 Critical Access and Top 100 Rural & Community Hospitals
CHICAGO–(BUSINESS WIRE)–The Chartis Group, a leading provider of comprehensive advisory services and analytics to the healthcare industry, today announced the 2022 Top 100 Critical Access Hospitals and the 2022 Top 100 Rural & Community Hospitals. Based on the results of the Chartis Rural Hospital Performance INDEX™, this annual recognition program honors outstanding performance among the nation’s rural hospitals.

This year’s Top 100 Critical Access Hospitals features 2 facilities which have received the honor 11 times, 4 being recognized for the 10th time and 23 hospitals making their first appearance. The Top 100 Rural & Community Hospitals was first introduced in 2016, and this year there are 18 providers being recognized for the 7th time and another 12 earning their 6th award. In this category, there are 13 first-time recipients.
Over the course of the last 12 years, the INDEX has established itself as the industry’s most comprehensive and objective assessment of rural hospital performance.
