Company honored for its comprehensive medical imaging ecosystem
REDWOOD CITY, Calif.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Exo (pronounced “echo”), a pioneering health information and medical devices company, today announced it has been honored with a Bronze Stevie® Award in the Most Innovative Company of the Year category in the 19th annual International Business Awards®. Exo was recognized for its innovative approach to making medical imaging more accessible to caregivers to accelerate diagnosis and treatment at the point of care – ultimately saving lives.
Exo is building an ecosystem to bring medical imaging everywhere. In March 2022, the company released Exo Works™, an intuitive point-of-care ultrasound workflow solution that significantly reduces caregivers’ time documenting patient data. In addition to saving time for bandwidth-strapped physicians, the mobile-first software enables real-time collaboration, credentialing and metrics tracking to ensure every caregiver has the patient insights they need to make efficient and informed medical decisions.
In addition to providing innovative ultrasound workflow software, Exo is developing a handheld ultrasound device that captures images for everybody — ensuring every patient, regardless of body type, receives proper diagnosis and treatment. Exo also recently announced its acquisition of Medo, a Canadian developer of artificial intelligence. Exo will use Medo’s unique technology to radically lower the expertise required to diagnose common and critical conditions through automated image capture and interpretation, allowing non-experts to conduct high-quality exams quickly and accurately.
“Our mission is to make medical imaging available to more caregivers in more locations, and simplification is an element of making that happen. Simplifying medical imaging will lead to better patient outcomes as well as reduced caregiver burnout,” said Sandeep Akkaraju, CEO and co-founder of Exo. “This recognition from the International Business Awards further validates how our medical imaging ecosystem will drastically transform healthcare, and thus, improve overall human wellbeing. I’m proud of the Exo team’s dedication to our mission.”
The International Business Awards are the world’s premier business awards program. The 2022 International Business Awards received entries from organizations in 67 nations and territories. Stevie Award winners were determined by the average scores of more than 300 executives worldwide who participated in the judging process in June and July.
“This year’s class of honorees are as innovative, adventuresome, persistent, and successful as we’ve ever had. We look forward to celebrating their achievements with them during our October 15 awards banquet in London,” said Stevie Awards president Maggie Miller.
