Island Enterprise Browser Named Best Enterprise Security Solution of 2022 by SC Magazine

DALLAS–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Island today announced that its innovative Enterprise Browser has won the 2022 SC Awards in Excellence for Best Enterprise Security Solution of the Year. This recognition comes just seven months after Island emerged from stealth and brought its Enterprise Browser to market. Island recently closed its Series B funding round, bringing Island’s total funds raised to more than $200 million, and its valuation to over $1.3 billion.

The announcement was made today as part of SC Media’s 2022 SC Awards coverage. The industry awards program is cybersecurity’s most prestigious and competitive program, recognizing the solutions, organizations, and people driving innovation and success in information security.

“This achievement is powerful validation of the strategic value the Enterprise Browser is bringing to customers,” said Mike Fey, CEO, Island. “After a decade of largely iterative security tool improvements, the Enterprise Browser is having a truly transformative impact on organizations, improving security and user experience, while reducing cost and complexity. We are deeply honored to have earned this award and look forward to continuing to lead and innovate in this exciting new category.”

Now in its 25th year, the 2022 SC Awards were the most competitive to date, with a record 800 entries received across 38 categories, expanding its recognition program to include several new award categories that reflect the shifting dynamics and emerging industry trends. Excellence Award winners were selected by a world-class panel of industry leaders from sectors including healthcare, financial services, manufacturing, consulting, and education among others.

“The introduction of new categories for the SC Awards is recognition of the innovation happening throughout the security community in an effort to stay ahead of adversaries,” said Jill Aitoro, senior vice president of content strategy, CyberRisk Alliance and editor in chief, SC Media. “The cyber community understands that it can’t stand still.”

The Island Enterprise Browser gives organizations complete control, visibility, and governance over the last mile. Through a familiar Chromium-based user experience, the Enterprise Browser enhances productivity while integrating the core security and IT needs of the enterprise directly into the browser itself. Island’s impact spans an ever-growing range of use cases, including securing critical SaaS and internal web applications from data leakage, safe access for BYOD workers, full control over and visibility into contractor activity, and full governance over privileged user accounts. The Enterprise Browser represents the next chapter for the secure enterprise workplace.

“I want to thank SC Magazine for this recognition,” added Fey. “I also want to acknowledge and express my endless gratitude to Island’s incredible team of innovators who have worked tirelessly to bring the Enterprise Browser to life.”
