Progressive Grocer honors Amazon, Publix, Kroger and other retailers that have successfully reimagined grocery
CHICAGO–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Progressive Grocer, the only media brand serving the grocery industry for more than 100 years, is honoring Amazon, Publix, Kroger and others as part of its 2022 Retailer of the Century Awards.
Over the past two years, grocery retailers have had to reassess and adapt nearly every facet of their operations. Changes to the grocery landscape will continue, shaped by both macroeconomic factors and those pesky, always-changing consumer preferences.
Progressive Grocer, which is celebrating its 100th birthday this year, surveyed the competitive landscape over the past century to identify those companies that have prioritized innovation, differentiation and community service through every conceivable (and previously inconceivable) operational challenge – and thrived.
The publication is excited to honor the ingenuity, courage and drive of 11 unstoppable food retailers, with a Retailer of the Century award, as well as acknowledging some honorable mentions.
