Emergent Cold Latin America Acquires Distribution Facility in Recife, Brazil

Second investment in North Brazil’s commercial hub and further expansion of Brazil operations.

SÃO PAULO–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Emergent Cold Latin America (Emergent Cold LatAm), the fastest-growing cold storage logistics operator in Latin America, announced today the acquisition of a distribution facility located in Recife, Brazil. This acquisition is the company’s second investment in Brazil’s northeast region.

The new Emergent Cold LatAm site has a building area of almost 19,000 square meters, with 18,500 pallet positions of storage space. It is well-located within Recife, one of Brazil’s largest cities and the most important commercial hub in the northeast region.

This acquisition is part of an ambitious investment strategy for Emergent Cold LatAm in Brazil. Last year, the company entered Brazil’s cold logistics market with its acquisition of Martini Meat. At the same time, Emergent Cold LatAm purchased DMX Logística, a leading transportation business supporting Brazil’s protein industry. More recently, the company entered the northern region of Brazil with the acquisition of a modern distribution facility located in Recife.

“Brazil is the largest Latin American market with high levels of protein production and consumption, and a positive forecast for the coming years,” said Neal Rider, CEO of Emergent Cold LatAm. “Adding this capacity in Brazil increases our global connectivity for protein companies looking for better access to international markets.”

“This acquisition represents another important step to strengthen our operations’ footprint in Brazil, showing long-term commitment with our customers,” said Evandro Calanca, Managing Director, South Cone.

44 Capital Finanças Corporativas acted as financial advisor, and Lefosse Advogados acted as legal advisor to Emergent Cold LatAm.
